Bugatti is planning another attack on the world speed record for a street car with a new £ 2 million of his Chiron, the company boss Wolfgang Durheimer has revealed.
Manufacturers France currently holds the world record of 268mph (431km / h) with the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, a set of standards in the test facility Volkswagen's Ehra-Lessien in 2010 by former F1 driver Pierre-Henri Raphanel.
Speaking to Autocar, Durheimer said: "We will try to lock up the world speed record new. I know Chiron will be faster [than the Veyron Super Sport], but we do not how fast. We have calculations of our simulations, but always different to sit in in the car and actually do it. "
The new Chiron, which made its debut dynamic UK at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last weekend, has dramatically improved the performance compared to its predecessor. While the Veyron Super Sport has 1183bhp and 1106lb ft, Chiron made 1479bhp and 1179lb ft.

The record attempt will most likely take place in 13-mile-Lessien Ehra facility in 2018. The Bugatti has taken more than 200 deposits for Chiron and will focus on increasing production and fulfill their orders over the next year.
