Tried and true Subaru rally specials, WRX and WRX STI, washed into the 2017 model year with minor equipment changes.
Six-speed user base 2017 WRX costs $ 125 more than that in 2016, the buyers now get auto-on sensors for lights, auto up control / down to the front passenger window, and headliner fabric upgrade that looks more like designed for cars of the U-Haul truck. For $ 27,515, you get a 2.0-liter flat-four turbo same that the 268 horsepower to all four wheels. A 6.2-inch touch screen to operate a system of six-speaker audio with HD Radio, SiriusXM, Bluetooth, USB, and a variety of music applications come standard.
As before, the 2017 WRX Premium ($ 29,815) brings a wider 18-inch wheels dark gray in summer tires, power moonroof, heated side mirrors folding, windshield wiper de-icer, fog lights and sporty front seats heated. Cost of choosing the option of navigation ($ 2,600), which upgrades the 7.0-inch touch screen, an increase of $ 500 on the base and Premium trims, but now includes blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and push-button start. WRX Limited brings LED low-beam lights, approach lighting, chairs the power eight-way driver, and leather trim with red stitching for $ 31,815.
The Lineartronic CVT may be good in other Subarus WRX performance-oriented but it was an experience we will avoid at any cost, which in this case is $ 1,200. soul-draining automatic is optional on Premium and Limited trim, and the only side-benefit is for those who want additional security features. Fully-loaded STI Limited ($ 40,815) costs only $ 25 more than it was in 2016. Six-speed stick drivers only need apply. Do not expect your Subaru dealer to stock 2017 models until the summer.
