Updates to Kia Soul and Kia Carens

New engine and a few tweaks to the Kia Soul, and updates to the Carens MPV, ahead of the Paris Motor Show.

Kia has announced several updates Soul models, ahead of the Paris Motor Show this week.

Kia has added a turbocharged petrol engine 1.6-liter with 201bhp, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Drivers can switch between normal, eco and sport mode, which adjusts the steering depending on driving conditions and preferences.

With this new machine, which has been available in Ceed and Ceed GT Pro models, Soul is updated now can achieve 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 122mph, with CO2 emissions of 156g claimed / km.

To distinguish themselves from the rest of the range, faster Soul has a new front bumper and grille, with two exhaust pipes, some color detailing and 18-inch alloy wheels.

In the interior, the Soul comes with cloth and leather seats with orange stitching, along with several other orange highlights. There is an option to go with either a touchscreen system 5.0-, 7.0-, or 8.0-inch, with Apple and Android CarPlay Auto, along with a USB port in the back seat, parking camera, fully adjustable front passenger seat, blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert provided.

The rest of a variety of Soul also has a new front and rear bumpers, along with an updated grille, new fog lights and reflectors. In the interior there are new gloss black details on the dashboard.

Renewed soul will go on sale in the UK later in 2016.

Kia Carens MPV also been updated, with changes to the exterior and the addition of some extra kit. Bumper, fog lights and grille have all been updated, such as Soul and Kia has added new taillights, new alloy wheel designs and a large selection of fresh paint (blue mysterious).

In the interior, the seats can be finished in fabric or leather, and there is the option of carbon-effect of the new dashboard. There touchscreen 7.0- or 8.0-inch with sat-nav, along with CarPlay Apple and Android Auto, and there is a new sound system.

For the environmentally conscious, you can add 'eco pack' with a 1.7-liter diesel engine, which adds a stop-start technology, updated gear ratio, and low rolling resistance tires.

Updated Carens will be available in late 2016.
