Philippines Mitsubishi Motors Updates Pajero Engine

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines’ long servicing flagship SUV, the Pajero, gets a new heart for 2016 that boasts more power, better refinement, and of course, Euro 4 emissions compliance.

This new engine boasts the Pajero’s comfort and refinement levels. Outside, it gets LED daytime running lights, HID headlights with auto dimming, and a power tilt/sliding sunroof. Inside, it boasts of full leather seats (Claysoil Beige or Black depending on the exterior color) and a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat.

Now available at all Mitsubishi dealerships nationwide, the 2016 Pajero gets an upgraded 4M41 engine with a new variable geometry turbo system. This brings the 3.2-liter 4-cylinder’s output to 192 horsepower at 3,800 rpm (up from 165 horsepower) and 441 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm (up from 373 Nm). Apart from just pure power, the upgraded 4M41 engine meets Euro 4 emissions regulations while also benefiting from improved cooling performance and stronger internal components.

Giving the Pajero surefootedness on any terrain, it has the proven Super Select 4WD-II system as standard equipment as well as M-ASTC or the Mitsubishi Active Stability and Traction Control system which applies braking force to the free-spinning wheels, redistributing power to the wheels with traction, curbing over- and understeer.

The 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero retails for P 2,750,000 for the diesel variant. A gasoline variant, powered by a 3.8-liter V6 retails for P 2,550,000.
