2018 Mercedes G-Class to receive new diesel engine and updated interior

new photos of the 2018 Mercedes G-Class test mule revealed changes in the interior and exterior light and a wider track.

As with all previous generations of the G-Class, aka G-Wagen, future models will have the same boxy design and retro body mounted on a chassis frame and with a live rear axle. V8 and V12 units 'hot-vee' is expected to remain unchanged, and the sources we also believe more V8, 5.5-liter units are older, they will be offered. Current six-cylinder diesel G 350 d, however, can be replaced with more efficient units to be shared with the E-Class.

E-Class is equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine that produces 254bhp and 457lb ft, which is 12bhp and 14lb ft more than the G-Class diesel unit at this time. It is also in accordance with the latest Euro 6 emission standards, so we believe the source of the G-Class will inherit it, and that donkey run this development to pre-production testing.

No other significant changes are expected for the 2018 model, especially since a lot of charm and appeal of the G-Class comes from the fact it has stayed true to the original 1979 design.

Updated G-Class looks set to make its world debut late next year, before it was sold in 2018.
