The new Volvo S90 and V90 variety has been named by the new version of the R-Design, which will go on sale early next year.
This performance-oriented version of the Audi A6 Volvo, Jaguar XF and rival Mercedes-Benz E-Class receives unique exterior styling, including a bespoke front grille, fog lamps integrated into the front spoiler and new wheels. Volvo said it had also re-tuned the chassis to give the car a more "energetic, road-hugging drive."
Inside, both cars get a new selection of trim, sport seats and steering wheel and a new interior lighting. book orders for both models are open now, but the delivery is not expected until the end of the year.
Volvo has not released official pricing for the R-Design models, but they are expected to command a significant premium over the regular S90 and V90, which are priced from £ 32 555 and £ 34 555 respectively.
Priced at around £ 38,500 for the S90 R-Design and around £ 40,500 for the V90 R-Design tends to match Volvo's current pricing structure.
Volvo's senior vice president for marketing and customer service Annwall Björn said: "R-Design gives primacy to the real and elegant sedan models in our Series 90, with a winning combination of sportiness, driving more responsive to styling performance clearly visible."
