Our spy photographers have seen what looks to be a test mule for the long-rumored Jaguar J-Pace SUV.
The test mule, which have been photographed being trailered back to the Jaguar engineering center in Gaydon, using F-Pace body but has a 2.0-liter diesel engine with a hybrid-electronic assistance. It is also seen to have an extended wheelbase and extended body, adds to the theory that it was a development car for a larger SUV models.
Autocar reported last year that the upcoming Jaguar Electrified will get a unique view of their own, such as 'i' model BMW has their own distinct identity, indicating the body of the production-spec hybrid J-Pace may differ quite substantially from F-Pace.
Autocar also revealed that an all-electric SUV is being developed by Jaguar and more compact model because, suggesting we could see a line-up of four SUV of the Jaguar (including the current F-Pace) before the close of the decade. It is understandable models of the future will be sitting in the same aluminum architecture with XE and F-Pace, which itself has been designed with all-electric powertrain in mind, as well as various hybrid and plug-in hybrid applications.
The latest hybrid development mule this week show these plans are still in place, though Jaguar has so far refused to offer more information. Instead, he said that it was always testing different configurations of the model line-up for the construction of the future, so this test car does not always confirm future production models.
However, the hybrid powertrain under the hood and body extended from seeing the F-Pace donkeys have our sources believe that it is, in fact, the model SUV hybrid that is larger, and some have gone so far as to suggest it will be called J-Pace ,
However, while we know Jaguar has trademarked monikers E-Pace and I-Pace (as well as the I-Type), perhaps for a small SUV and all-electric models previously mentioned (and electric sedan), has so far not yet Pace brand name J- trade.
A more compact SUV, possibly called E-Pace, is expected to go on sale in 2017. An all-electric model is also expected to arrive in 2017, but sources claimed that the latest test of hybrid cars at this time (which can be seen pictured here) is not will spawn a production model by 2018. Instead, dated sometime in 2020, has been disputed.
