Next-generation Subaru Impreza has been revealed ahead of the New York motor show.
The new model is powered by an all-new structure, called the Global Platform, which will be used for all future Subarus, including the new WRX STI, which led to four-wheel hybrid drive performance.
Britain is not possible to accept the Impreza sedan pictured here, instead of taking a five-door hatchback version. Subaru is also keen to ensure that the standard version even better to drive; spy shots we showed the car referring to the Ford Focus and Mazda 3.
The new Impreza will be bigger than ever, with a wheelbase extended by 25mm over the outgoing model. The overall length is by 41mm and width by 38mm. Height has been reduced by 10mm for a sportier look and better aerodynamics.
Subaru has confirmed that the Impreza will use a four-cylinder, horizontally opposed engine and all-wheel drive. the exact specifications have not been revealed, but the new generation of engines with cylinder deactivation technology is expected.

Impreza will offer a visual collision avoidance technology for the first time and will also be equipped with the latest Subaru infotainment system, which is equipped with voice control and a wide range of applications that can synchronize with your phone via Subaru StarLink.
Global Platform, which says Subaru "significantly improve the security, driving comfort and agility", will fit a variety of body styles and powertrains, including the all-terrain Subaru crossover and SUV models.
Model WRX STi anticipated is set to be the most radical yet. A performance version is rumored to use a 2.0-liter turbo engine on the front axle and the electric motor at the rear. With around 320bhp, it will have a Ford Focus RS firmly in its sights.
