We usually do not cover this kind of news, but because it will affect the way you drive around Metro Manila, we thought it would be wise to make an exception this time.the article cited by :http://www.carguide.ph/2016/10/no-window-hour-expands-in-both-coverage.html
Citing its effectiveness during a dry run for a week, the Council of the Inter-Agency about traffic or I-ACT (boy, the government is really love acronyms catchy them), will expand the scope of Vehicular Program Volume Reduction Bersatu (UVVRP) or better known as the number coding on both location and time.
Although the number coding scheme has been part of the life of automotive Metro Manila for some time, it made headlines when the I-ACT and other relevant agencies decided to remove the so-called hour window (or hours where the rider without expired license plates can move freely) , This week, schemes hour window closed at: EDSA, C5, Roxas Boulevard, Alabang-Zapote Road, as well as the overall Mandaluyong, Las Piñas, and Makati.
And because of the travel time has increased about three minutes (to their calculations, not ours), starting Tuesday, November 1st number coding scheme will be held from 7:00 am (0700) until 8:00 pm (2000). And because the removal hour window appears to be effective, coverage will be expanded to include:
- C1: CM Recto Street
- C2: President Quirino Street
- C3: Araneta Street
- C4: EDSA
- C5: C.P. garcia Street
- C6: Bulacan-Rizal-Manila-Cavite Regional Expressway
- R1: Roxas Boulevard
- R2: Taft Street
- R3: Slex
- R4: Shaw Boulevard
- R5: Ortigas Street
- R6: Magsaysay Boulevard / Aurora Boulevard
- R7: Quezon Street / Commonwealth Avenue
- R8: A. Bonifacio Street
- R9: Rizal Street
- R10: Del Pan / Marcos Highway / MacArthur Highway
Other non-arterial roads around Metro Manila excluding protected by Mandaluyong, Las Piñas, Makati and will continue to have a 10:00 (1000) to 3:00 (1500) hour window. Hey, we're not saying it's impossible to get around, but goodness, you must be either creative or Waze expectations come with the update that lets you choose your route if the car code.
As a refresher, UVVRP stating that vehicles with certain ending numbers on their plates or stickers conduction can not ply on the roads:
- Monday: 1.2
- Tuesday: 3, 4
- Wednesday: 5, 6
- Thursday: 7, 8
- Friday: 9, 0
Technically, extended coverage of the policy-hour no window of UVVRP will run only until January 31, 2017. But like anything was created as a "temporary" by the government, this would probably be a patch work remains to traffic woes Manila.
