You're looking at the first application of the new Volvo Compact Modular Architecture (CMA). Surprisingly, it does not constitute a Volvo 60-series or XC40; that underlie this new SUV of a new car manufacturer: Lynk & Co.
A new brand under the brand China, Geely, Lynk & Co. aimed towards younger buyers who appreciate the connectivity above all else. The first victim of the brand, the "01" is a compact crossover that is about the same size as the Honda CR-V. It looks neat on the whole, although there was a heavy influence on the Nissan Juke, Kia Sportage, and what you have there.
Inside, it was clearly influenced by Volvo with Census-like interface with a large central touchscreen. Even switchgear look like they were stolen directly from the Volvo parts bin of the steering wheel, rod, switch, and even the gear lever.
Also thanks to Volvo, which Lynk & Co. 01 is powered by either a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder or 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, both mated to a dual-clutch automatic. Electricity is supplied by either the front or all wheels. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid technology will be available on all powertrain combinations as well.
Lynk & Co. will use an open digital platform developed by Microsoft and Alibaba so that third-party developers can create applications. Open application platform also allows for communication vehicle-to-vehicle to share data with each other.
