::All-New Honda Civic hatchback revealed 2017"

Honda has revealed the ten generation Civic hatchback ahead of the Paris Motor Show in September,
  • The new models will be built at Honda's Swindon plant
  • Longer, lower and wider than the previous Civic
  • an updated interior and a bit less cluttered

Tenth-generation, all-new Honda Civic has been launched.

Sitting at the top end of the small family hatchback class, with rivals such as the Audi A3, Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf, the Civic has always stood slightly thanks to the way it looks; and, the latest model is likely to continue that trend, maintaining an interesting angle and anxiety people have come to expect.

The new Civic is longer, wider and lower than the previous generation. However, while high may be lower (which can make things a bit tight for taller people in rear seats), Honda says there is more overall space inside the cabin, thanks to a longer wheelbase.

boot will have a capacity of 478 liters with the rear seats up. There is no way to flatten the rear seat really like you used to be, but the parcel shelf removed.

From the first view in the car, it looks as if a lot faster on the dashboard of the current model has been exchanged with a screen that can display both the car information and entertainment. We also think that Honda has done away with the overly-cluttered dashboard that let the previous generation car.

Civics has long had an impressive list of standard safety kit, including stability control, advanced braking system, eight airbags and autonomous braking system, which is available in the new Civic. But Honda did not stop there, adding lanes continue to assist, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot assistance, reversing camera to assist and adaptive cruise control for each model.

The new Civic will initially be available with a choice of two new turbocharged petrol engine, the 1.0-liter three-cylinder unit and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder, which will both be available with six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. A 1.6-liter diesel will follow further down the line, with a six-speed manual gearbox, or an optional nine-speed automatic gearbox.

Civic hatchback production already started in Swindon; and, although UK prices are not yet available, we hope that it will be slightly higher than the outgoing model, which reflects the additional technology buyers get.
