New Mercedes E-Class Estate revealed

Mercedes has taken the wraps off the new E-Class Estate ahead of the launch of the UK later this year.

Merc wagon big executive will initially be available in the form E220d, using a 193bhp 2.0-liter turbodiesel engines all recently also found in the E-Class sedan. In this form, the E-Class wagon will have CO2 emissions of 109g / km and fuel economy of 67.3mpg official.

The E220d will follow later in the year by E350d Estate, which uses diesel V6 255bhp 3.0-liter, and the performance-oriented E43 AMG 4Matic, which develops 396bhp from the 3.0-liter petrol V6 and can be viewed from 0-62mph sprint only 4.7 sec. All versions will come with a nine-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

Traditionally, the E-Class Estate has been offering the largest boot in its class, and the latest version is no exception to that rule. 670-liter loadbay about 100 liters bigger than the other cars in the class wagon executive, and that extends to 1820 liters when you fold down the rear seats split-fold - you can do both with exciting catches in the backrests, or with electrical switch located in the load area. A car is a five-seater, but later in the year, you will be able to specify an optional third row of seats.

Standard equipment in the range will also include useful electronic tailgate, along with self-leveling air suspension on the rear axle. Prices have not been announced, but expect to cost a few hundred pounds more than the equivalent sedan.
