The 2017 Range Rover will come with Jaguar Land Rover’s latest semi-autonomous technology and an additional supercharged V6 engine when it goes on sale this autumn.

Priced from £76,350, the refreshed SUV line-up will get new driver assistance systems in three specification levels, adding features such as lane departure warning, parking assistance, autonomous emergency braking and driver fatigue monitoring.

Higher-spec cars gain adaptive cruise control and a traffic sign recognition system that adjusts cruise control speed to the posted limit. 'Low traction launch' is also available to help pull away from a standstill on slippery surfaces by controlling the torque applied by the driver.

Inside, the new Range Rover receives JLR’s InControl Touch Pro infotainment system with a 10.0in touchscreen display.

Buyers can specify an optional Pro Pack to gain remote control of features such as climate settings and the car’s door locks. Controlled via a smartphone app, the system can offer door-to-door navigation and learn a user’s regular routes, and it can alert owners if the alarm is triggered.

A range of finishes and 19 new colours are also available, designed by JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations division.

Also added to the 2017 range is JLR’s supercharged 3.0-litre V6. The 335bhp, 332lb ft unit is shared with the Jaguar F-Type and accelerates the SUV from 0-60mph in 7.1sec. It slots between the Range Rover’s existing diesel V6 and V8.

It uses the same 542bhp supercharged V8 as that car, giving it a 0-60mph time of 5.1sec, but gains more driver-focused chassis settings and an 8mm lower ride height. It also gets a few cosmetic tweaks, including Graphite Atlas-finished side vents and grille, while inside it gets diamond quilted leather seats.
