Renault unveils hot hatch version of its Twingo city car

• Renault Sport-tuned rear-mounted engines had 108bhp
• 0-62 mph in less than 10 seconds; revised suspension
• Sold in the United Kingdom this winter

Renault Twingo has launched hot hatch version of the GT, the city's newest car developed by Renault Sport.

In the heart of the new car is a turbocharged three-cylinder 898cc engine that has been tuned to deliver a 108bhp and 125lb/ft of torque – both significant improvements over the standard car-air intake system was revised and modified engines mapping. At the same time, the car's standard five-speed gearbox also has been revised; and, even though Renault would not confirm the time of 0-62 mph right car, the company said that it would be ' less than ten seconds '.

The company is also keen to show the reaction accelerator pedal set by the same people who work on cars Megane RS performed very well in our test car-ten hot hatch in April.

All in all, it should be enough to make the Twingo GT is faster than a car any city is almost the same size in the market, though it almost certainly will be a little slower than Suzuki Swift sport, our current favorite junior hot hatch.

To take advantage of this performance, Twingo GT chassis features revised suspension, special ESP calibration (which the company says will allow some degree of typical rear-wheel-drive ' drift ' before it cuts) and variable rate steering wheel. As a result, Renault claims, is the sharp handling and responsive steering for cornering precision and superb roadholding.

GT stands out from little Twingos thanks to a specially designed 17-inch Alloy wheels, air intakes and the exhaust pipes twin lateral tail, and sits 20 mm lower in the sports suspension. It comes in a choice of four colors-Blaze Orange (like our photos, above), Lunar gray, black and White Diamond Crystal.

The look is completed by a pair of stripes (black car Orange, but orange on all others) that runs from the hat up and over the full length of the roof.

They are equipped with orange details in the cabin, the Renault Sport car sills, aluminum pedals and alloy lever button, while seats trimmed in leather upholstery.

There is no word yet on pricing or GT specs, but Renault says the car will provide ' affordable fun ' and will go on sale this winter.
