2016/2017 Audi RS6 Avant Performance review

Audi has a long history, if not completely unknown, making the car real fast enough to make your dog feel very ill indeed. While B7 RS4 Avant from several generations ago is widely regarded as a high point for Audi rapidly, there have been far more misses than hits.

RS6 Avant has long been a perfect example of how the German brand cars fell a little short to make a really great performance. Although you can not argue with the sheer amount of power offered or taken using quattro, they have proven to be the company numb and often bone-shatteringly in England.

So what's changed, then? Processing performance Well, RS6 Avant has received also available in Q3 RS. In the RS6, which ramps horsepower rises from 552bhp to 597bhp supercar strong-alarming. Usually 516Ib ft of torque, but the performance pack to add a brief overboost function that increases this to 553Ib ft.

Additionally, we ended our hands on the car running standard air suspension set-up. Given how uncomfortable steel semi optionally create things, RS6 Avant can finally come good here.

How does it feel?
Although it weighs more than two tons and is able to move the entire contents of your typical bedsit in one hit, Performance RS6 is explosively rapid. There is no launch control, but still there is a fire you away from standstill with savagery addictive. V8 soundtrack screaming fits, too.

Audi claims 0-62mph in 3.7sec, while our experience - and teeth when bound to the standard RS6 - indicate that it will sweep 0-100mph comfortably in less than nine seconds. On the road, you really can not keep your feet buried for a very long time before you will be afraid for your license.

Which is really impressive is how to use this performance. In the dry asphalt and that is not too steep, almost did not waste a single horse power even when you're brutal with your throttle application. In the wet, you see the traction control light flashing more regularly, but it's nowhere near as lairy as the Mercedes E 63 AMG estate.

It was, not surprisingly, means it's nowhere near as playful as a big Mercedes, either. There may be a sport differential for the rear and rear biased torque split, but you still will not drift RS6 Avant.

Understeer dominate the experience; even stamping on the throttle in the wet with the steering lock will give you the most, jerking back. After that, the fire driveline torque to the front wheels to drag you out of the slide as soon as possible.

Tears are a definite improvement over conventional rolls, though. There is precious little rolls when pushed, but the car still works wonderfully with the type of British B-road that is traditionally decomposed RS6s. It was still strong, but the car appears to move to the surface rather than trying to flatten it like a road roller turbocharged.

One area that we always feel the attention needed steering; despite this, there is no change in electromechanical systems. If there are nuances at all, we certainly did not find it, leaving you guessing as to what the front wheels do. It may be accurate, but it does not involve you as the best performance of the car.

More impressive is the eight-speed automatic gearbox, which is able to shift quickly when you try to embarrass exotica but proves pleasant smooth in normal use. There is a paddle for you to take manual control, but sometimes there is a delay between you select the gears and gearboxes actually provide it.

Of course, it was not only the driving experience that might tempt you to RS6. While it has one of the older interior of the Audi, it was still a nice place to sit. excellent material quality and looks good in a drunken stupor, the German way. back room is more than enough for all but the highest of the adults and the load bay is very large.

Should I buy one?
We can certainly understand why someone might choose to Performance RS6 Avant. For a start, there is no real standard of other faster, but still capable of being driven fast in any weather conditions. As an everyday car to easily cross the country, it was very impressive.

The problem is that the best performance of the car is more than just impressive. They must connect and engage with you; they must be the type of car you looked longingly at and desperate to think of a reason to drive. RS6 This is something that could never be done. This model does not change anything in that regard.

Are we missing the point, though? There is an argument that people can spend £ 86,000 on a real quick and then deal with the operational costs may not have this as the only car. If you already have a wheel pump adrenalin and just want the quickest and easiest way for a basket of five people and all their goods from point A to point B, RS6 Avant Performance fill that role perfectly.
